Couch Potato Kids Show Increased Risk of Heart Disease

By admin

A new study revealed that children with a history of low aerobic fitness and physical activity are 600% more likely to develop heart disease risk factors than kids that are active during their childhood.

The study followed 389 kids, aged 7 to 10 years old and then followed up with the same kids between the ages of 14-17 years. Eighteen adolescents developed 3 or more characteristics of Metabolic Syndrome. Metabolic Syndrome is a clustering of cardiovascular disease risk factors that identifies individuals with the highest risk of heart disease.
